Ahhh, we're back & well & truly rested after a fabulous holiday in France's La Plagne. We spent the week in the company of the Radford brothers Jon & Nick & their lovely ladies Nicola & Karen. I was the only newbie skier (yup, no more boarding for these knees!) and took to it like a duck to water whilst the others merrily hurtled their planks down red's & blacks with apt names like Kamikaze & Hari-Kiri!

I know I know... I need to pull my finger out :(
Grab you're cuppa, I'll take a wonderful trip down my festive memory lane... I'm sitting here, staring at my fabulous new shiny white & silver keyboard & looking fondly upon 22.5 inches of beautiful HD quality pixelation wondering what the hell I actually did in November!
So, lets see… <grabs calendar> Cripes! I hadn't even finished with the end of October!… this make take some time, I'd grab yourselves a cup (or glass hehe)! Are you sitting comfortably?… then I'll begin… So, let's see, last time I updated Murray & Hayley & the wee ones and mum & dad had visited and Emmie & Frankie were on their way… I’m sitting here listening to Notts on the radio, Soccer Saturday on t’telly… Roo & I are finally enjoying a well earned weekend of doing chuff all! I thought it’s about time for an update; there’s so much to catch up on!
Another 2 weeks & another overdue update. i warn you now... grab yourself a cuppa... this ones a longun'!
Heading down to ma & pa’s I was soooo excited! After I arrived & hugged my hellos I then found out Hayley (pink) & Muz were joining us… by the time we walked into the Axe, you could have peeled me of the ceiling! Oh my… 2 weeks have passed already! & what have I been up to?!
Hmmm, let me see… well, the Sheffield Wednesday game was fab! 10,500 supporters (10k of them were Wednesday fans lol!) made it an amazing atmosphere. Louise’s 40th party was fab too… it was at the cricket club, with karaoke, so you can imagine the carnage! (all I'm saying is Roo... Gay Bar...) Last weekend was Roo’s last game of cricket for the season. Great atmosphere from the lads, even though they didn’t win a single game all season! Roo & I were doing the rain dance the night before, but as it worked out we needn't have bothered & those cheekie chappies lost in record time! We whizzed straight off & managed to get to the ice hockey… we only missed the 1st 5 minutes (a fight & our 1st goal!) my hockey hubby Lee & his lovely lady Liz were there supporting the Cardiff Devils. It as an amazing 1st game to go to… we finally won 5:4 but I tell ya… the last 5 minutes were a nail bitter! Well what can I say? I have done so much since the last update! It was lovely heading back down & catching up with everyone. Em & Frankie’s party was fab & the weather wonderful :D I headed back down again on Tuesday to celebrate Emmie’s birthday with her… she looked gawjus heading out into Cambridge with Stu!
Hurrah for being gainfully employed! I started Legwear a week ago & things are going well. I’m enjoying it there & there may be a strong possibility that I’ll be able to have a full time role there :D I’ll keep ya posted… Then bank holiday! Our WoW friend Crowe (Christina) came to stay with us from Denmark and we've had an amazing time with her! She arrived on Saturday and I took her to see Roo play cricket; I say see, we actually managed to catch the last 10 minutes of the losing! After a brief stop off at pub (it’s the actual law to do this when you have friends over!) went back and showed her Papplewick cricket club before a yummy Chinese! Nomnomon Saturday was a lovely lazy fair in the morning, we then headed into Nottingham. We saw at the beach in Market Square and we went to an amazing pub called the Pitcher and Piano; it's a converted church and I'd managed to get a couple of free cocktail vouchers! I sampled a lovely strawberry and lime cider & Crowe & yummy Gin & Grapefruit delight. The food was excellent; Emma… next time you’re up we’re soooo going here! :) Ahhh the weekend… ain’t it ace?!
Well, I am gainfully employed again! It’s only a low paid part time temp role, but, it’s nearby & means I have money coming in again. It’s a fab little family run company that sell tights & stockings & I’ll be their Company Accountant… go me! :) I've been out tonight helping to organise the cricket club’s annual presentation do in September, Mum & Emmie… I’ll be after some advice on where to get table decorations… ;oD Well… this weekend will be wicked ace fun! We’re heading down saaaaff tomorrow after Roo’s cricket tomorrow. We’ll be staying at ma & pa’s & then Sunday we’ll be at Emmie & Frankie’s birthday party woo hoo!!! & OI! *point's at sky* I'm looking at you... no rain... awlrite! I'm hoping Muz & Pink'll be around too so we can see Ewan (I think Leon's off to his dads this weekend) & see their fab new house :) Then... Monday @ 9 am... work! Hope you're all fab & maybe see you this weekend :D Love Shazapoo x Well… where has the bloomin’ summer gone?!
OK, where to start? Let’s see… last Tuesday night I had a call from an agency to say there was a job going in Kirkby in Ashfield & paying rather well! Now, I should have said, thanks but, no thanks – I’ve got a job & I’m happy tar. But I didn’t. Instead, after discussing it with Roo, I found myself attending an interview on Thursday morning. I didn’t get the job; they chose the qualified accountant instead, but, the damage was done & after 2 whole weeks, I decided that Blueprint wasn’t for me. I know 2 weeks isn’t a long time, but I had had enough time there to realise that they were only going to demand more & more from me & whilst I knew I could deliver every time, ultimately I wasn’t enjoying it & I could tell it would only get worse. I kinda think I’m the bigger & better person for admitting it wasn’t for me & walking away, hopefully they’ll find someone else soon. I must admit I’ll miss the office manager Jo though… she’s ace :( I’m taking a lot from the experience though, I found I could actually do “it” & I’ve now got Sage experience too! I’ve also thought it over in my head & I know that there’s no way I could have known how this job would have panned out from the interviews I had. Happily, I move on… |
